The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan has assured widows of fallen officers of the command that they will not be forced out of the barracks until their husband’s entitlements are paid to them.
CP Mukan who made this known during the presentation of palliatives to the widows yesterday, said the command will continue to support the widows in every way they can. He promised to meet with the IGP to ensure the payments are made.
The state Police Command yesterday, donated food items including rice, beans, yams and oil to the widows, to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. Presenting the items, wife of the state Police Boss, Lenkart Mukan promised to engage the women in meaningful skills to make them self reliant.
She assured the women that under the leadership of her husband, the command will ensure that the rights of widows are protected in the state.
