Rivers State recorded nine new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,790 with 2,648 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 147 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (82), FCT (20), Rivers (9), Kaduna (8), Plateau (8), Benue (5), Edo (3), Kano (3), Nasarawa (3), Taraba (3), Ogun (2), Bauchi (1)
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 62371 with 58095 and 1,139 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure
