National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), says 17 of its members have lost their lives to COVID-19 without any form of compensation.

National President of NARD, Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi while briefing Journalists yesterday, said families of the deceased health workers have been abandoned.

He said despite the N500 billion released by the Federal Government for COVID-19 response, such families have not been given any insurance benefit.

Uyilawa also said months after the government made series of promises, they are yet to implement most of them.

He said the proposed strike was due to the Failure of Government to pay salaries and benefits of health workers among others.
