The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Nigerians will receive Covid-19 vaccine by the end of January next year.
Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire revealed this during the Federal Executive Council meeting held in Abuja yesterday.
He said there is no cause for alarm as the World Health Organization and GAVI would be able to get a reserve for some other countries who themselves are not manufacturing.
“We signed up for the advance market participation of the COVACC. We should get by January but there are two types of vaccines,” he said.
“There are those that have to be in ultra deep freezers, the MRNA type of vaccines. Freezers that must give you -80 °C,” he added.
Ehanire, equally revealed to the council that a technical working group in the health ministry is working tirelessly to ensure that the country gets the right vaccines.
