Rivers State has recorded 9 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,791 with 1,438 discharged and 52 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 462 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – 93; Lagos-78; Plateau-64; Kaduna-54; Oyo-47; Ondo-32; Adamawa-23; Bauchi-19; Rivers-9; Ogun-9; Delta-9; Edo-7; Kano-6; Enugu-6; Nasarawa-5; and Osun-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 43,151 with 19,565 discharged and 879 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
