Rivers State recorded 7 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,141 with 1969 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Other states in the federation also recorded new cases. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (55), Lagos (15), Ebonyi (11), Oyo (11), Abia (8), Anambra (7), FCT (7), Rivers (7), Kaduna (6), Ondo (5), Kwara (3), Bauchi (1), Benue (1), Edo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 53,865 with 41,513 and 1,013.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
