Rivers State has recorded 68 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,050, with 574 discharged and 38 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria saw 779 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with- 285; Rivers-68; FCT-60; Edo-60; Enugu-56; Delta-47; Ebonyi-42; Oyo-41; Kaduna-19; Ogun-18; Ondo-16; Imo-12; Sokoto-11; Borno-9; Nasarawa-8; Abia-5; Gombe-5; Kebbi-5; Kano-4; Yobe-3; Ekiti-3; and Osun-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 24,077, with 8,625 discharged and 558 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
