COVID-19: Rivers State Records 67 New Cases

Rivers State has recorded 67new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,181, with 746 discharged and 39 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.

Nigeria also recorded 603 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with- 135; Edo-87; FCT-73; Rivers-67; Delta-62; Ogun-47; Kaduna-20; Plateau-19; Osun-17; Ondo-16; Enugu-15; Oyo-15; Borno-13; Niger-6; Nasarawa-4; Kebbi-3; Kano-2; Sokoto-1; and Abia-1.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 28,167, with 11,462 discharged and 634 deaths.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
