Rivers State has recorded 6 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,535 with 1003 discharged and 49 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 562 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – 102; Lagos-100; Plateau-52; Kwara-50; Abia-47; Kaduna-35; Benue-34; Oyo-26; Ebonyi-24; Kano-16; Niger-15; Anambra-14; Gombe-12; Edo-11; Rivers-6; Nasarawa-5; Delta-5; Borno-3; Enugu- 2; Bauchi-2; and Kebbi- 1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 37,225 with 15,333 discharged and 801 deaths
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
