Rivers State recorded 5 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3075 with, 2885 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 550 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (180), Lagos (134), Kebbi (45), Adamawa (26), Plateau (16), Enugu (14), Taraba (14), Gombe (12), Nasarawa (8) Yobe (8), Rivers (5), Ogun (5), Kwara (2), Ekiti (2), Sokoto (2), and Osun (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 70,669 with 65,242 and 1,184 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
