Rivers State recorded 5 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3001 with, 2858 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 122 new cases of the virus. Kaduna recorded the highest number of cases with – (37) Lagos (29 ), Plateau (25), Ekiti (9), Rivers (5), Ogun (5), Edo (4) Kwara (4), Bayelsa (2), Bauchi (1), and Kano (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 67,960 with 63,839 and 1,177 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
