Rivers State recorded five new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,770 with 2,630 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 48 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (18), FCT (13), Kaduna (6), Rivers (5), Ogun (5), and Ondo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 61,930 with 57,285 and 1,129 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
