COVID-19: Rivers State Records 5 New Cases

Rivers State has recorded 5 new case of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,944 with 1,675 discharged and 54 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.

Nigeria also recorded 290 new cases of the virus. Lagos, recorded the highest number of cases with – 82; Plateau-82; Oyo-19; FCT-18; Edo-16; Kaduna-15; Enugu-9; Ogun-9; Kano-8; Kwara-8; Cross River-5; Ondo-5; Rivers-5; Ekiti-4: Imo-3; and Borno-2.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 46,867 with 33,346 discharged and 950 deaths.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
