Rivers State recorded forty-two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,517 with 2,344 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded a total of 160 new cases of the virus with the highest number of cases seen in Rivers. Lagos (32), Plateau (21), FCT (18), Kaduna (14), Ogun (11), Katsina (10), Kwara (3), Ondo (3), Imo (3), Anambra (1), Abia (1), and Oyo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,287 with 50,718 and 1,113 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
