Rivers State recorded has no recorded four new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,172 with 2,023 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC, made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria in total recorded 156 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (36), FCT (35), Oyo (29), Kaduna (10), Abia (9), Osun (5), Ogun (5), Enugu (5), Nasarawa (3), Ekiti (3), Imo (3), Edo (2), Kwara (2), Katsina (2), Plateau (2), and Niger (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 54,743 with 42,816 and 1,051 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
