Rivers State recorded 38 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3217 with, 2,929 discharged and 60 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 930 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with -(279), FCT (179), Plateau (62), Kaduna (54), Kano (52), Katsina (52), Imo (42), Jigawa (42), Rivers (38), Kwara (30), Nasarawa (19), Yobe (15), Ogun (13), Borno (10), Oyo (9), Niger (9), Ebonyi (6), Bauchi (6), Edo (5), Taraba (4), Sokoto,(2), and Cross River (2).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 75,062 with 66,775 and 1,200 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
