Rivers State has recorded 32 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,088, with 648 discharged and 38 deaths. This comes after two consecutive days with no new cases reported in the state.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 790 new cases of the virus, being its highest daily figure, since the outbreak of the disease. Delta recorded the highest number of cases with-166 Lagos-120, Enugu-66, FCT-65, Edo-60, Ogun-43, Kano-41, Kaduna-39, Ondo-33, Rivers-32, Bayelsa-29, Katsina-21, Imo-20, Kwara-18, Oyo-11, Abia-10, Benue-6, Gombe-4, Yobe-2, Bauchi-2 and Kebbi-2,
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 26,484 with 10,152 discharged and 603 deaths.
The NCDC continues to call on Nigerians to keep practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
