Rivers State has recorded 30 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,427 with 952 discharged and 47 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 643 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 230; Oyo 69; FCT 51; Edo 43; Osun 35; Rivers 30; Ebonyi 30; Kaduna 28; Ogun 27; Ondo 23; Plateau 20; Benue 17; Enugu 16; Imo 10; Delta 6; Kano 4; Nasarawa 2; Kebbi 1; and Ekiti 1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 34,259 with13,999 discharged and 760 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
