Rivers State has recorded 28 new case of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,972 with 1,721 discharged and 55 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 423 new cases of the virus. Lagos, recorded the highest number of cases with – 117; FCT-40; Ondo-35; Rivers-28; Osun-24; Benue-21; Abia-19; Ogun-19; Ebonyi-18; Delta-17; Kwara-17; Kaduna-15; Anambra-14; Ekiti-11; Kano-9; Imo-6; Gombe-4; Oyo-3; Taraba-3; Bauchi-1; Edo-1; and Nasarawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 47,290 with 33,609 discharged and 956 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
