Rivers State recorded has recorded 27 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,168 with 2003 discharged, and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 216 new cases of the virus. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – 59 Rivers-27, Abia-22, Lagos-20, Oyo 18, Enugu-17, Kaduna-11, FCT-11, Ogun-10, Ebonyi-4, Osun-4, Ekiti-4, Delta-3, Edo 3, Akwa Ibom-2, and Bauchi-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 54,463 with 42,439 discharged and 1,027.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
