Rivers State has recorded 27 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2090 with 1,901 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
There were also a total of 52 new cases of the virus in Nigeria. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (50), Enugu (35), Lagos (26), FCT (18), Kaduna (18), Ekiti (10), Kano (10), Taraba (9), Anambra ( 8 ), Edo ( 8 ), Oyo ( 8 ), Delta (7), Ogun (6), Abia (5), Bayelsa (5), Ebonyi (1), and Osun (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 52,800 with 39,964 discharged and 1,007 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
