Rivers state recorded 23 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 12,953 with 12,734 discharged and 154 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on its official website on Friday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 196 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with -138, Rivers-23, FCT-18, Imo-15, Bauchi-1 and Gombe-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 214,513 with 207,403 discharged and 2,980 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has announced the detection of the omicron covid variant in the country.
