Rivers State recorded twenty three new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,347 with 2,212 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 136 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (30), Lagos (24), Rivers (23), Ogun (13), Katsina (9), Plateau (9), Ondo (6), Kaduna (4), Kwara (4), Imo (2), Bauchi (1), and Edo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 58,324 with 49,794 and 1,108 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
