Rivers State recorded 21 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,653 with 2,447 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 103 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (39), Rivers (21), FCT (19), Oyo (6) Kaduna (4), Bauchi (3), Ogun (3), Imo (2), Kano (2), Benue (1), Edo (1), Nasarawa (1), and Plateau (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,841 with 51,551 and 1,113 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
