Rivers State has recorded 20 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2128 with 1,935 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded a total of 296 new cases of the virus. Plateau saw the highest number of cases with – (85), Enugu (46), Oyo (31), Lagos (21), FCT (15), Kaduna (13), Bauchi (12), Delta (11), Ekiti (11), Akwa Ibom (7), Ebonyi (6), Kwara (5), Ogun (4), Osun (4), Gombe (3), and Niger (2).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 53,317 with 40,726 discharged, and 1011 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
