Rivers State recorded two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,199 with 2,104 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded a total of 188 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – Lagos (47), Enugu (25), Plateau (21), FCT (14), Abia (11), Delta (10), Bauchi ( 8 ), Ondo ( 8 ), Kaduna ( 8 ), Ogun (6), Imo (5), Benue (4), Katsina (4), Taraba (4), Edo (3), Kwara (3), Oyo (3), Yobe (2).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 56,017 with 43,998 and 1,076 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
