Rivers State recorded two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,197 with 2,089 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Other states witnessed new cases of Covid-19. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (83), Lagos (48), Kaduna (17), FCT (16), Ogun (11), Katsina (7), Imo (4), Edo (3), Nasarawa (3), Bayelsa (1), Oyo (1), and Osun (1). In total, there were 197 new cases of the virus in Nigeria.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 55,829 with 43,810 and 1,075 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
