Rivers State has recorded 2 new case of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,993 with 1,785 discharged and 56 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 329 new cases of the virus. Lagos, recorded the highest number of cases with – 113; Kaduna-49; FCT-33; Plateau-24; Kano-16; Edo-15; Ogun-14; Delta-13; Osun-10; Oyo-8; Ekiti-6; Bayelsa-6; Akwa Ibom-5; Borno-4; Enugu-4; Ebonyi-3; Rivers-2; Bauchi-1; and Nasarawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 48,445 with 35,998 discharged ans 973 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to help curb the further spread of the virus, which currently has no cure.
