Rivers State recorded nineteen new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,809 with 2,659 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 150 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (89), Rivers (19), Ogun (11), Bayelsa (9), Kaduna ( 8 ), Plateau ( 8 ), Taraba (3), Osun (2), and Delta (1)
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 62521 with 58249 and 1,141 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
