Rivers State has recorded 19 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,565 with 1051 discharged and 49 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 543 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 180, FCT-86, Kaduna-56, Edo-47, Ondo-37, Kwara-35, Ogun-19, Rivers-19, Kano-17, Ebonyi-16, Enugu-16, Delta-7, Bayelsa-4, Bauchi-3, and Abia-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 38,344, with 15,815 discharged 813 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
