Rivers State recorded eighteen new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,305 with 2,196 discharged and 59 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.

Nigeria also recorded 213 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (51), Plateau (51), FCT (29), Rivers (18), Ondo (12), Oyo (9), Osun ( 8 ), Gombe (7), Ogun (7), Kaduna (5), Enugu (4), Edo (3), Jigawa (3), Kano (3), Benue (1), Delta (1), and Sokoto (1).

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 58,062 with 49,606 and 1,103 deaths.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
