Rivers State recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3179 with, 2,926 discharged and 60 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 758 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – 305), Lagos (152), Kaduna (103), Bauchi (44), Gombe (35), Plateau (31), Rivers (17), Sokoto (15), Kwara (13), Kano (9), Ebonyi ( 8 ), Ogun (5), Osun (5), Oyo (4), Edo (4), Anambra (4), Bayelsa (2), Ekiti (1), and Taraba (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 74,132 with 66,494 and 1,200 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
