Rivers State has recorded 17 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,911 with 1,591 discharged and 53 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 354 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – 78; Lagos-76; Kaduna-23; Ebonyi-19; Oyo-18; Nasarawa-17; Rivers-17; Delta-16; Kwara-15; Akwa Ibom-13; Edo-12; Ogun-12; Plateau-11; Kano-9; Bauchi-6; Borno-6; and Ekiti-6.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 45,244 with 32,430 discharged and 930 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
