Rivers State recorded 15 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3070 with, 2881 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 550 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (219), FCT (168), Kaduna (52), Kwara (19), Kano (15), Rivers (15), Sokoto (10), Enugu(9), Gombe ( 8 ), Plateau (7), Osun (7), Anambra (5), Oyo (5), Jigawa (4), Ogun (4), Bauchi (2), and Edo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 70,195 with 65,110 and 1,182 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
