Rivers State recorded 9 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2905 with 2,746 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 156 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (70), FCT (22), Kaduna (18), Rivers (15), Plateau (11), Ogun (10), Bauchi (3), Katsina (3), Kano (2), Ekiti (1) and Osun (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 64884 with 60936 and 1,163 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
