Rivers State recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2954 with 2,785 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 246 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (66), Plateau (63), FCT (48), Kaduna (21), Bayelsa (19), Rivers (12), Niger (9), Ogun (4), Ekiti (2), Bauchi (1), and Osun (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 66,228 with 61,884 and 1,166 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
