Rivers State recorded eleven new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,220 with 2,130 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 221 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (59), Abia (46), FCT (22), Gombe (20), Plateau (17), Rivers (11), Bauchi (7), Benue (6), Ekiti (6), Imo (6), Kaduna (4), Kwara (4), Ondo (4), Ogun (3), Osun (3), Bayelsa (1), Edo (1), Kano (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 56,956 with 48,305 and 1,094 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
