Rivers State has recorded 1 new case of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2007 with 1,853 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
New cases were also recorded in other parts of the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 210; FCT-45; Ondo-30; Plateau-21; Edo-19; Ogun-16; Oyo-13; Nasarawa-12; Bauchi-11; Enugu-10; Kwara-7; Kaduna-6; Anambra-4; Ebonyi-3; and Abia-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 49,895 with 37,051 discharged and 981 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
