Rivers State has recorded 1 new case of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,939 with 1,641 discharged and 53 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 453 new cases of the virus. FCT, recorded the highest number of cases with – 75; Lagos-71; Benue-53; Delta-39; Borno-30; Enugu-25; Plateau-24; Osun-20; Abia-19; Oyo-17; Kaduna-16; Kano-13; Ebonyi-13; Ogun-9; Kwara-7; Ondo-6; Gombe-3; Ekiti-2; Akwa Ibom-1; and Rivers-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 46,140 with 33,044 discharged and 942 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
