Rivers State recorded no new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. The total number of confirmed cases in the state still stands at 2,141 with 1971 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Other states in the country recorded a total of 143 new cases of the virus. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (35), Kaduna (21), Lagos (19), FCT (13), Ebonyi (9), Adamawa (7), Enugu (7), Katsina (7), Edo (6), Kwara (5), Osun (3), Anambra (2), Kano (2), Niger (2), Ogun (2), Benue (1), Borno (1), and Sokoto (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 54,008 with 41,638 and 1,013.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
