Rivers State has recorded no new case of the COVID-19. The total number of confirmed cases in the state still stands at 1,056, with 622 discharged and 38 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded 561 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with- 200; Edo-119; Kaduna-52; FCT-52; Niger-32; Ogun-19; Ondo-16; Imo-14; Plateau-11; Abia-8; Oyo-8; Bayelsa-7; Katsina-6; Kano-5; Bauchi-3; Osun-3; Kebbi-3; Borno-2; and Jigawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 25,694, with 9,746 discharged and 590 deaths
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
