Rivers State has recorded 9 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 248 with 73 discharged and 16 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country, Tuesday.
The Centre also announced 214 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 142; Oyo-15; FCT-13; Kano-12; Edo-11: Delta-10; Kaduna -9; Rivers-9; Borno-8; Jigawa-4; Gombe-3; Plateau-3; Osun-1; and Bauchi-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 10819 with 3239 discharged and 314 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
