Rivers State has recorded 6 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 936, with 473 discharged and 36 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known yesterday on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country.
Nigeria also recorded 594 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with-159; Delta-106; Ondo-44; FCT-34; Edo-34; Oyo-33; Kaduna-33; Enugu-28; Katsina-25; Imo-22; Adamawa-15; Ogun-12; Osun-11; Abia-8; Rivers-6; Nasarawa-5; Bauchi-5; Niger-5; Kebbi-4; Ekiti-3; Plateau-1; and Taraba-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 22,614 with 7,822 discharged and 549 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
