The Federal Government of Nigeria, has reacted to reports that transportation of COVID-19 vaccines across the country will cost about N10.6 billion.
Reports had surfaced online that the government had earmarked over N10 billion, for circulation of the vaccines across the country.
But in a statement yesterday, Dr Faisal Shuaib described the report as false, as he said that the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID), is responsible for the circulation of the vaccines.
“I do not see how that is going to cost N10 billion. So there is no truth in that. That information. So there’s no truth in that information,” he said.
“The truth is what I have told you, which is that CACOVID has taken up the responsibility of delivering the vaccines from Abuja to the states,” he added.
He also stated that for the areas where there are no airports, cargoes will be used to dispatch the vaccines.
