The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has linked the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the state, to the commissioning of projects by the state government.
Spokesperson of the party in the state, Ogbonna Nwuke disclosed this in a statement today.
He said the Governor has continued to assemble large group of persons at a place, during the commissioning of projects, without social distancing, which has led to the increase in cases.
Nwuke also stated that the state government is considering a total lockdown in places with high number of cases.
He called on the state government to stop the commissioning of projects, in the overall interest of the health of Rivers residents.
