Rivers State recorded 45 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,681 with, 3,850 discharged and 76 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,964 new cases, being its highest daily figure. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 824, FCT-246, Plateau-166, Kaduna-128, Ogun-76, Nasarawa-74, Anambra-69, Edo-50, Rivers-45, Ondo-44, Niger-40, Oyo-38, Adamawa-35, Kano-31, Akwa Ibom-27, Gombe-19, Kwara-13, Ekiti-12, Delta-6, Kebbi-6, Bauchi-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3 and Zamfara 1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 116,655 with 93,646 recovered patients, and 1,485 deaths.
The NCDC, has said that as schools resume across the country, authorities must take responsibility to ensure;
Temperature checks at entry points.
Compulsory use of face mask.
Provision of hand-washing facilities.
Classrooms are well ventilated
