Rivers State recorded 79 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 6,177 with 5,694 discharged and 88 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 869 new Cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 229, Rivers-79, Taraba-73, Oyo-66, Ogun-60, FCT-58, Plateau-56, Kwara-38, Ondo-38, Osun-24, Kano-22, Nasarawa-21, Abia-19, Edo-19, Akwa Ibom-19, Cross River-10, Delta-9, Benue-8, Ekiti-6, Borno-6, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa-1 and Zamfara-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 149,369 with 125,722 recovered patients, and 1,787 deaths.
The commission has advised Nigerians to Remember to wash their hands at these critical times:
Before and after eating or preparing a meal.
Before wearing a face mask.
After using sanitary facilities.
After sneezing and coughing and upon arrival at work or back home.
