Rivers State recorded 82 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,175 with 4,368 discharged and 79 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.

In total, Nigeria recorded 864 new cases. Lagos state recorded the highest number with – FCT-129, Anambra-87, Rivers-82, Benue-80, Oyo-76, Plateau-61, Kaduna-54, Delta-51, Nasarawa-38, Kwara-36, Edo-32, Katsina-26, Kano-24, Taraba-18, Ogun-14, Sokoto-11, Gombe-10, Jigawa-7, Akwa Ibom-6, Cross River-6, Zamfara-5, Bauchi-5, Osun-4 and Ekiti-2

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 127,024 with 100,853 recovered patients, and 1,547 deaths.

The Commission has said that COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.
