COVID-19: Nigeria Records 838 Cases, Rivers 8

Rivers State recorded 8 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,376 with, 3,111 discharged and 64 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country.

In total, Nigeria recorded 838 new cases. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (297), Lagos (253), Plateau (82), Kaduna (57), Katsina (32), Nasarawa (31), Kano (25), Gombe (24), Oyo (8) Rivers (8), Zamfara (7), Ogun (4), Bauchi (4), Edo (4), Anambra (1) and Sokoto (1).

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 84,414 with 71,034 recovered patients, and 1,254 deaths.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has stated that the virus, which causes COVID-19 is more likely to spread in mass gatherings especially when held indoors.
