Rivers State recorded 83 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 8,297 with 7,542 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Wednesday.
In total Nigeria recorded 790 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 574, Rivers-83, Ondo-38, Ogun-31, Oyo-23, Delta-10, FCT-9, Ekiti-7, Edo-6, Osun-4, Anambra-2, Bayelsa-2 and Plateau-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 179,908 with 166,203 recovered patients, and 2,195 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency has urged Nigerians to obey all covid-19 protocols as it has recorded cases of the deadly Delta variant in five states.
